I began my kendo training in Japan at the age of 12, and since then, I have practiced diligently for over 35 years. In 1999, at the age of 23, I moved to the United States, and I have continued my training with a focus on staying true to the basics. The Edmonds Kendo Club (KAISHUKAN in May 2026) was established in January 2011. From 2026, we will be able to practice in a dedicated dojo, allowing for a more traditional Japanese environment. I hope to use this environment to share the greatness of kendo with even more people. Currently, I hold a 7th dan from the All Japan Kendo Federation and am striving to reach even greater heights.
